Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- You need at least 5 years of experience in advocacy or public policy, with a strong background in working with government bodies.
- A total of 7+ years of experience is required, with a focus on integrity and a sense of purpose.
- Interpersonal skills are a must, as you'll be working in a matrix environment and engaging with diverse teams.
- A background in business administration, public policy, political science, or public relations is preferred, along with an MBA or law degree.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- As the Manager, you'll be an advisor to Wipro's business leaders, influencing decisions related to government and regulatory affairs.
- Develop and implement a strategic government affairs plan, creating white papers and evangelizing Wipro's story to build its brand with government stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to advocate for Wipro's positions on legislative and regulatory issues. This includes drafting proposals, position papers, and even testifying at hearings.
- Write on technology policy topics like digital transformation, data privacy, sustainability, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies for various regions.
- Cultivate strong relationships with government officials, industry associations, and other stakeholders in India and select priority countries.
- Monitor and analyze legislation and regulations, ensuring Wipro's compliance and advising on business practice adjustments.
- Identify and manage political and regulatory risks, developing strategies to mitigate these risks and handle crisis situations.
- Ensure consistent messaging and alignment on public policy issues across internal teams.
- Organize and participate in stakeholder meetings, events, and forums, representing Wipro on governmental and regulatory matters.
- Prepare and deliver presentations, briefings, and reports to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Work with industry peers and coalitions to advance common public policy goals.
- Represent Wipro in key industry associations in India and globally.
