Utah Dancers Shine in the Radio City Rockettes' Centennial Celebration
In the heart of New York City, two Utah natives are dazzling audiences as part of the legendary Radio City Rockettes. This iconic dance troupe is marking a remarkable century of high-kicking, precision-driven performances, and these talented women are living proof that dreams can come true.

But for two Utah dancers, Isabelle Harris and Emry Wride, this dream became a reality.

Determined to follow her passion, she moved to NYC after high school, dedicating herself to mastering the Rockettes' signature precision dance style. Wride, a BYU dance major and former Cougarettes member, took a leap of faith when she attended an open call for the Rockettes in New York. The audition was a whirlwind, with over a thousand women vying for a spot. Yet, Wride's talent and the Rockettes' new conservatory program, which offers aspiring dancers a week of training with the team, secured her place.
But here's where the Rockettes' magic truly shines: despite the intense competition, the organization fosters a harmonious and collaborative environment, transforming into a sisterhood once you're in. The dancers undergo a rigorous six-week training program to prepare for over 100 Christmas shows in just two months.

Wride, meanwhile, reflects on the surreal experience of embodying the Rockettes' iconic look with red lipstick and French twist hairstyles, carrying on a tradition that began in 1933 with the "Parade of the Wooden Soldiers."
